The flash site was not functional, the navigation worked sporadically, and the videos, the heart and purpose of the site, played inconsistently. Because of the functionality issues the site was not updatable with the latest videos and music clips. Dodi FM, the online radio station that presents samples of the artists’ music, was not up and running due to the existing problems with the rest of the site.
Mododi is a Midwest promoter of underground rap. Its’ clients’ videos are showcased on the web site for recording studios and entertainment venues.
Each section on Mododi.com is an individual flash file. Rather than starting from scratch we troubleshot the individual flash files, removing bad Actionscript and rewriting new Actionscript.
Then we eliminated multiple and conflicting video loaders, and programmed the remaining loader to call the appropriate video by a numbering system. We also recompressed the videos to load faster, and added a progressive “loader” bar to each page because of lag time with loading heavy videos.
•The site now loads quickly and completely on all platforms and with and without
WWW in the URL.
• All sections of the site, including the video sections, load quickly and play seamlessly.
• Because of the video loader numbering system the site is now easily updatable by company staff.
• Dodi FM now works on the site, and serves up music samples.
